Celebrity Bridesmaid Dresses

Every once in a while, you’ll see some fabulous celebrity step out of the spotlight to support a friend on her wedding day. Maybe she’s just a guest, or maybe she’s a bridesmaid. Could you imagine having a celebrity like Taylor Swift as your bridesmaid? Many of her childhood friends have. While it’s likely you haven’t heard what her friends wore on their wedding day, you probably saw what Taylor wore.

Celebrities almost always look fabulous, no matter what they wear. While you, the bride, are most certainly meant to be the star of your wedding day, you want your girls to feel amazing, too. What better way to make your ladies feel like your supporting actresses than with dresses inspired by some of the most famous bridesmaids? We’ll show you some beautiful dresses worn by celebrities and some great look-alikes that won’t break the bank.

Taylor Swift wore this flattering burgundy dress for her best friend Abigail’s wedding earlier this year. There are a lot of different styles with the same silhouette, so your bridesmaids can choose what makes them feel like a star the best. Off-the-shoulder, strapless, or with straps, this Dessy Collection dress will look gorgeous on anyone. The burgundy color is also perfect for the fall.

Sofia Vergara can probably wear anything, but this simple, yellow bridesmaid gown could be perfect for anyone.

The yellow buttercup color is perfect for a spring wedding. With a few different hues on your bridesmaids, it could also complement a fall wedding. Again, there are so many different styles to choose from, your girls will be sure to find something that is comfortable for them.

If long dresses aren’t for you or your bridesmaids, consider something like this! The first dress is a darker blue, but the top is a twist top, which means your ladies can twist and adjust to find a fit that works for them.

Bridesmaid Dresses for a Beach Wedding

If you read our post on wedding dresses for a beach wedding, then it’s pretty clear you’re planning a beach wedding. You already know what you want for your dress, but what about your bridesmaids? We all know that sometimes, choosing a bridesmaid’s dress for your girls can be quite a task. You want it to go with your theme, but you also want them to be comfortable and look good. You probably also want it to be a dress they could wear again. There are so many dresses to choose from though, so don’t freak out! There’s a dress out there for everyone, and there’s no need for them all to wear the exact same thing. There are so many different style options available in the same color. You could also choose a color scheme and have all your girls wear the same style dress in a color family. This is a fun way to switch things up from the usual.

As for the fact that the wedding is on the beach, there are a lot of different styles to choose from. Much like your fabulous dress, you want to keep things light for your bridesmaids. Since they’re not likely to be wearing layers of fabric and tons of bling, this shouldn’t be too big of an issue for them though. You may even want to choose something short and sweet, so they don’t have to worry about their dresses dragging in the sand. There are a lot of beautiful, tea length dresses to choose from that are flattering on everyone as well.

The Dessy Group and David Tutera have such a large selection of styles, you would be hard-pressed to not find a single thing. Here are some light and sweet tea length dresses, perfect for your beach wedding. The color scheme is up to you, of course, but coral and teal really compliment the beachy waters and beautiful skies at the beach.

If tea length isn’t something you want at your wedding, then how about something cocktail length? Your girls will be cool and comfortable in some of these dresses.

Lastly, if you’re really not feeling short dresses at all, there are still a lot of long dress options that will flow beautifully in that beachy breeze.

*Alternate options for you non-shoppers: If you really dread the idea of dress shopping from store to store, you can forgo it all together and either just work with a solo dressmaker or shop online.

–       Matchmaker”: Working one-on-one with a dressmaker can be a very intimate, fulfilling experience if you two connect very well and her creations magically match your wishes.

Virtual dress realms:  If you do order online, make sure you do so in plenty of time in case it doesn’t look, or fit, as you expected it would when it arrives.  Also, be aware that if you are ordering from overseas you’ll often have to pay custom charges.

*Communication is keyask questions and keep the flow of honest feelings into conversations going! To avoid any misunderstandings through lack of communication between you and the bridal shop you will be a client to, educate yourself beforehand as to what you’re allowed to do/bring, and be honest and just be yourself once you go to fittings to be as stress-free as possible.

I hope some of you brides-to-be find these tips valuable, and I hope it triggers even more thoughts to be conjured in your own mind as to what you can do as an addition to stress-free and smart, strategic planning.

CROWN YOUR GOWN

Remember to approach dress shopping as an absolute experience…not a result/destination.  By doing this, (ironically but beneficially), you will achieve the result you most desire, escaping the daunting and mundane experience of trying on gowns.

Most importantly, listen to your own head and heart…because nobody knows you better than you know yourself.  Wear your wisdom as the crown on top of your head…(and later, a veil).  You know the man you’re marrying is “The One,” and that same intuition and wisdom will guide you for when choosing the right dress.

This is how you will come out alive…and your real “crown” will be your most perfect gown.
